How to Overcome Your "Story" About Why You're Not More Creative

If I was to ask car insurance price to Ccj remortgage some possible reasons why you're not more creative than you are right now, I expect you'd have no trouble reeling a few off.

Maybe you'd say: "If only I had more time, I'd be able to get into a creative flow far more often, and of course then I'd be far more creative overall."

Or you'd tell me: "If only I was more focused. I always start creative projects, lose momentum then give them up and start something else. I never see structured settlement buyer through to completion."

Perhaps your first thought would be: "I just home refinancing enough good ideas. If only I could think of some great ideas I'm sure I'd create far more easily and prolifically." All of these reasons - and a whole host of others you could come up with about why you don't create more - come under the same single reason.

There's only one reason why any of us aren't more creative. That is because of our story about why we're not more creative.

Let me explain what this means. When you say things like: "I don't have enough good ideas", time and time again in your mind, then you create for yourself a personality and a story about yourself. The personality in this example is someone who can't have good ideas. And the story about why you're not more creative - the story that you tell yourself over and over again - is "I'm a person who doesn't have any good ideas, and this is why I don't create more."

It seems on the surface to give you justification, or an excuse, as to why you're not more creative, and yes it seems likes you're just recounting the truth, the indisputable cold bare facts about how things are in your creative life. But your reality is what you make it. If you tell yourself enough that you can't create BECAUSE of various reasons, then guess what? Yep, you won't create, and you'll take some comfort in the fact that you have these perfectly valid reasons why you don't.

The most dangerous part of forming these stories is that they become your reality. They become fixed, unquestioned, set in stone.

You completely believe them, and lose sight of the fact that you can change your story, you can CHOOSE to believe something different.

So, let's follow through with the ideas example. Just think for a moment, what if you WERE someone who could come up with great ideas readily and easily? What would your creative life be car insurance online quote then? How much more creative would you be? In just a couple of moments pondering this question, you can see that once you shift this belief about how you create and what you're capable of, all sorts of wonderful possibilities open up.

Once you make the choice to rewrite your story - the choice that you have always had and always will have - you realise that you can create whatever you want, however often you want.

So, let's take this back to back to your creative life again. What's YOUR story about why you're not more creative? Write down the first 5 or 10 reasons that come to mind. Then pick the one which you feel holds you back most. Now turn it around in your mind.

How would your creative life be different if you believed the opposite? How amazingly creative would you be if you believed that you could come up with endless creative ideas, or you had as much creative time as you chose to prioritise, and could be as focused as you needed to be to see through your creative projects from start to finish?

Now, isn't that a person you'd like to be? Isn't that a story you'd like to write for yourself?

Remember, the only reason why you're not more creative is your story about why you're not more creative.

So, what are 3 steps you can take today to start to show yourself that you can rewrite your story, that you can have more ideas, give yourself more time to create, be more focused?

You know what to do next. Take that first step today...
