Creating Your Own Business Website
Creating your own business website is actually pretty simple. Anyone nowadays can start a website in as little as half an hour.
Imagine having a website, YourBusiness set up within half and hour. Unbelievable. Once your website is up, it has a potential market reach of 3 billion internet users! That's amazing. To get your website up and running the first thing you need is your domain name. This is YourBusinessOrSomething It's a good idea to try to get a .DotCom ... because it's the most recognizable and doesn't confuse your potential customers.
In this day and age it's vital for you to have a website you can easily give to potential customers. You will actually look non-professional if you don't have one. It's also vital for your to have your own domain name, as opposed to using someone else's, and only being a sub-domain or a directory.
Like myspaceYourBusiness or YourBusiness.weebly You see that a YourBusiness will look so much better and much more professional. The best place to get your domain is NameCheap in my humble opinion. I've tried a few, including GoDaddy and 1and1. And I think NameCheap is the best out of the three I've tried. The next step to having a website, is getting a webhost. A webhost is simply the place to breakdown cover your website. At the start of your business you should be paying that much for webhost. The most you should be paying is $10 a month...
If you are starting an online business that requires a lot of domains, you should get a web host that lets you host unlimited domains. The webhost I recommend is discount Prozac they offer their "Baby" package for under $10 a month to host unlimited domains. Once you buy your domain (should cost you no more than $10 a year) and your webhost (cost no more then $10 a month) it's time to get your website together. You need to design your website. Now do not try to design it from scratch if you don't have to. Leave those to the professional web designers. You can work off of templates, or outsource your web design. If you want to save money, you can do it yourself. But work off of a template, so you are not working from scratch. There's hundreds of sites that offers website templates you can use for free.
Also a site that I think is great for small businesses to get their website up quickly and easily is Weebly They allow you to design yourself using new drag and drop, Web 2.0 gadgets etc. which makes it extremely easy to get a website looking exactly the way you want it. Also they have dozens and dozens of templates to choose from. At this point you might want to look into creating a blog. A blog simply stands for web-log and it offers an easy way for you to stay in touch with your customers. You can post everyday or once a week, or whenever you feel like it announcing new sales, and just basically informing your visitors of what's going on. Also Blogs allows for built in templates as well.
