Your Kid Also Can Make Wonderful Models From Paper

Sometimes the most beautiful things are the simple ones. I am sure you have seen and have been impressed by wonderful complex models and toys with lots of electronics and fancy stuff ball jointed dolls nowadays they can be found everywhere. But didn't you enjoy the simple wooden toys from your childhood? They can't compete with today's toys on bells and wishes but still amaze us with their simplicity and perfection.

Often the greatest models are made of the simplest material. Is there a material simpler than paper?

"But what can I do with just paper?!"

I am sure you are asking yourself. Just listen:

Paper Houses
If you hope your kid to become an architect, try to get it keen on building paper houses! It's a wonderful way to learn about buildings and shapes. Making an advanced paper house will be a very complex project and is appropriate for bigger kids. But even a six year old can build a simple square house with 4 walls.

Even the simplest paper house will require at least two sheets of papers, cutting and a drawing plan. If needed, you can help your child with the plans but it's great to leave it try with its own imagination. All that the first house needs is 4 walls, window, door and a roof.

Once the child become comfortable with the simple projects, you can try building a more advanced house with actual rooms inside. Another way to help the kid go into the more advanced stuff is to use some of these the oldest baseball card books which have full sized colored drawings.

Paper Furniture
Once you have a paper house build, why don't you go ahead with the furnishing? Tables, beds, chairs, TV sets, fridges... There are so many simple pieces of furniture that you and your kid can build together.

Honestly building a table or bed is much simpler project than building a paper house. So you may actually prefer to start with that first.

Paper Animals
Have you ever heard about origami art? It usually involves a single sheet of paper and the models are made by only folding! The most popular subject of the origami craft are animals - birds, elephants, crocodiles, dogs and cats, horses, monkeys and more... What a wonderful way for your child to learn more about the animals!

Building origami models is a craft itself and is very different than the other models we discuss here. Although it's great enough to teach your children to it, I would recommend you combine origami models with some of the other models I mentioned in this article.

Paper Vehicles
If you have a boy, he may be very interested in building paper cars or motorcycles. Wow, that's hard! Not so much. Technically the toughest part of building a paper car are the wheels. If you have used papercraft books you have seen the little cogs that are used to connect the curved parts of the wheel. If you are designing the car yourself, you will need to think about this.

For sure your buy will be happy enough to make paper vehicles using books with full sized plans, but if you want to truly develop his imagination, try to design the model together with a pencil and a ruler.

Paper Airplanes
The paper airplanes are within the most loved papercraft and toys. It's really wonderful that you can easily build a toy from paper that really flies. Most paper airplanes are relatively simple to build and at the same time are great stimulation for the kids imagination.

Besides that, if your children learn how to make paper airplanes, they may become interested in other aspects of model aviation - a hobby that can not only turn their interest into aviation but also help them become wonderful persons.
